Hi All,
Here on the Zone, we've just discovered that if one goes to:

it shows who is ignoring whom. Is this supposed to be there, or is it just a slipup type thing? It's kind of a good thing, because I'd realized I accidentally ignored someone and didn't mean to! I felt so badly because I didn't ignore anyone and yet this person was on there, so I went and took him off. Lol. But yeah. It's kind of a cool feature, because if you're being ignored and don't want to be, you could go talk to that person? I dont' know. I kind of like it, but I think it might hurt other peoples' feelings? I don't know, but I was just wondering if this is supposed to be there, and if so, I didn't know about it earlier.

Okay sorry, I realize posting on ehre was a bit out of line, but it's upsetting people, this page, and I think it may harbor a lot of bad feelings, so maybe people should either totally not go to this page, or it should be blocked from viewing? Just a suggestion. Sorry if I annoyed anybody by posting this. I accept that this is life, and it's just a web site, but I dont' want anyone getting upset about this, because if someone ignroes you, who cares, go on. But yeah, don't get upset about it, people. Okay I'm done, I aplogize again for bothering you all.

with regards to previous comments, if someone has ignored you, they're clearly not worth your time. It can be upseting and it can be hurtful, but everyone has people who loves them, who will be there for them, who, at the end of the day, will do anything for them. you may not think it, you may not have found some of them yet, but you will. half of the people who have ignored me, i dont' even know, in fact, i dont' know any of them and i dont' care. if they don't like me, they dont' like me. not my problem. be who you are. if you can't be that, you have no chance. dont' waste your time worrying about people who won't or don't worry about you.
I think you are making this more dramatic that it need be. If I ignore people is not because I don't like them is SIMPLY because I want to play a game without the noises of quicknotes and without the screen jumping up and down on me. Now I really don't see why this would hurt anyones feelings unless people go looking for trouble. Maybe others like me have placed people on ignore while playing a game and forgot they have when they were done playing and signed off. A way to solve this would be to have the possibility to either reset the 'ignore' list once a person signs off (then all people on that list will be erased and the list will be empty) or have a permanent ignore feature for people who don't wish to talk to someone specifically. Hey, this is the real world. No one is perfect and yes, there are people I don't want walking to me or sending me quicknotes. Nothing more, nothing less.
I just went to that URL, just out of curiosity to see if my name would be there, and it has that I'm ignoring someone which I just think is weird. *smiles* I have never put anyone on ignore but I just thought that was interesting that it had that I was. *smiles* Actually, another thing that's weird is that some names have their own name under ignore, and I wondered how could someone be ignoring themselves? *chuckles, thinks* But yeah, to me, it was just interesting.

if you want to ignore someone while playing a game, you can always set your quicknote settings to ignore mass quicknotes or something. I agree with sugar. you know who your real friends are, and that's what all counts in the end.

I didn't mean to be dramatic, guys, honest. I only posted this, again, because people were upset byu it. I agree that it's life and that everyone has their own friends, so who cares who ignores them. I totally agree. I also noticed that some people had themselves under ignore, which is weird. Also I had accidentally ignroed someone I mean to, so probably half of it is accidental. So whatever. I think the page was taken down anyway, that's why Troy didn't access it.

Ya, we took it down for now. It was up awhile back to test some things and the URL leaked, apparently. No big deal.
Actually, i have pondered for awhile if the fact taht someone is ignorring you should be public info or not. I have seen sites that do it, bt am not really sure. Ya, and ignorring yourself? Why would you do that? That'll be really weird when we add ignore for the boards. You'll never see your own posts.
I really really don't understand what the big deal is. If someone is ignoring you, they're clearly not worth your time. Move on with your life!
I think it should be put back. It did me a favour. I don't wanna bother wasting my time with people who clearly dont' wanna know me? Anyone who does, clearly has issues.

Also, in terms of the info leaking.... It didn't. I guessed the url! Slash ignore .php? Not exactly unique is it... That's what people like me do and achieve when they have time on there hands.
If it's taught anyone anything, I would hope that it'd be, if you really don't want things to be found, make a better effort of hiding them, coz that one wasn't very good. But seriously, what the hell is the big deal!
i think it should be put back up as well. Here's a solution. For the people who don't want it up, don't look at it. it's that simple.
Ok here's my 2 cents worth ;)
If this info is to be public I think it should be more personalized. You should obviously be able to see what people you ignore and it could be argued that you might be eligible to see who's ignoring you. But I think it gets questionable when you can see who is ignoring who, it's a totally publica type of information and it could create a lot of weird discussions.
I'd say use a unique ID type of generation for the urls so that the urls for stuff like this can't be guessed, I've seen a lot of sites do this, especially music download sites and stuff, you can use a unique ID datatype or just a random number generator and throw that number at the end of the url after the keyword, that way you can do testing and it's unlikely that people can guess the page using the php script name and the site address.
Just a thought.
And btw people, I'm sure most people know this, but you can always see who you are ignoring from your profile and settings page, at least you used to be able to but I haven't checked it in some months.

I dunno about this one. I think people might get overly offended to find that alot of people blocked them. Why should it even matter to even know who blocked you anyways?
right, I just wanted to say that everyone has blown this way out of proportion.... It's done, it happened, it's gone, it's over, so get over it! People got what they wanted.... So can we just move the hell along now please? Thank you!!!
I would also like to see it brought back. I think that most of the users, at least ones who have posted so far are in agreement that it should be publicly accessible. If you don't want to know, don't look at it. For those who are curious, it should be available. Just my two cents.
Well, I thought I might as well as my opinion in here as well. I think the url should be brought back as well with restrictions. Like wildebrew, I believe you should be able to see who you're ignoring in case it was accidental. I also think you should be able to see who's ignoring you. For those who are offended easily by such knowledge, don't look at the page. I don't, however, believe the who's ignoring who should be a public thing. It just creates turmoil on the site and way too much drama.

Me to. I'd like for the page to be back up. If you have accidently ignored someone u will know and if u just don't want to see who's ignoring you, just don't look!
I also agree with SS, first of all, as other have said, you might have someone on ignore by accident and I think it would be cool to see who has you on ignore, besides if you don't wanna know that info, don't look, and also agree that we shouldn't see who has each other on ignore as it's nothing to do with us, but surely we shold be able to see who we have on ignore and who's ignoring us.
Frankly Caitlin, I find this an interesting topic, and I don't see anything wrong with your bringing it up at all. If someone hadn't said it was disabled, I might've tried to access the link out of curiosity. I don't see anything wrong with it being put back. I get ignored a lot publicly, so why should I care if someone puts me on ignore. That's reason number 2 why I turned public quick notes off in the first place. I don't ever send anyone a quick note first anyway, not anyone I really know enough on here enough to do that, and anyway, sometimes someone will send me a quicknote, then when I reply, all ready to talk, they just don't respond, and I check their profile to see where they are, and usually they're in a game, and i wonder, if they don't want to talk, why send me a quicknote in the first place? I'm just sitting there, waiting for them to respond, since they're the ones who sent me a quicknote first. It's slightly irritating, but I don't want to cut off all communication, so I just leave private quicknotes on. Just my thoughts. This was very interesting caitlin, have a nice evening all.

In case you gusy didnt' know, if you go to Account Settings or whatever, you can see who all you're ignoring, you don't need the special page to do that. Or Site Settings, rather, under Account Settings. So in that sense, the page isn't necessary. But it might be if you have a suspicion that someone is ignoring you, and you want to sort out the difficulty.

Basically in the way that has been suggested. You'll see who is ignorring you and who you are ignorring.
Oh I get it, so you'll see your own stuff, but not others' info. That's a good idea.

Here's a idea maybe in the members profile and settings page show a link so that people can easily find the ignore page.
That's a good thought. Maybe that's where they planned to put it anyway? But if not, that's a good spot. Maybe right under the spot where you can add and remove people from your ignored users list?

well there are some ppl who have sexually harrassed us all as a group with public qns instead of private ones *how rude* so yes with the exception of that i never block anyone
well actually, I copied and pasted that url that Caitlin posted at the beginning of this thread, out of curiosity, and I got that 404 error not found.

Ever since this topic was created I can't access the ignore page's url. Does anyone know if it's going to be brought back to the site or is it gonna be shut down for a while? Or do I have the wrong url? http://www.zonebbs.com/ignore.php
It was taken down shortly after this thread was put up. It may come back in an alter ego later on (see earlier posts).

Yes. I agree that the page should be grought back.
I've also noticed that my posts are all jumbled together even though I skipp a line between sentinces, or paragraphs and such.
Why is that?
Bring it back, please. I believe that you should be able to se who is egnoreing you and who you are egnoreing wiht that URL. However, it shouldn't be public info. If that happend, people could really get into some fights. Besides, I don't need the public to know who's ignoreing me, or whom I might be egnoring if anyone.
Let's see if this al comes out as I typed it now. Hmmm...
